Emergencies
There is a very efficient medical assistance and first aid which are reinforced during the
summer-season. At the hospital in Portoferraio
you can even find a paediatric ward and the “iperberaica”
room 24 hours a day.
Police, emergency medical service and
fire prevention services are situated all over
the island, in appropriate centres in every town.
The Civil Protection is particularly efficient
and has a very important rule such as the medical
emergency service and to the Fire Brigade which
also operates with a number of volunteers.
